As a proud mother of a furry little kitty person, I know that cats need just as much love and attention as any dog. There are hundreds of homemade treats for dogs, but I rarely see any for cats. This coming Thanksgiving, show your furry kitty baby that you appreciate him/her by making a tasty Thanksgiving treat for him/her!
Kitty People Thanksgiving Turkey Balls
- Ingredients:
- ½ pound ground turkey
- ½ cup grated carrots
- ¼ cup parmesan cheese
- ½ cup finely crushed crackers
- ¼ cup powdered milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon dry active yeast
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Baking Directions
- Using your hands, mix all of the ingredients together in a large bowl. Make sure that everything is fully incorporated with one another.
- Shape the mix into individual golf sized balls and arrange them on a non-stick baking sheet.
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until the balls are nicely browned and have reached an internal temperature of 160 degrees F.
- Cool the delicious treats before serving! You may freeze leftover balls and reheat them in the microwave as needed.
As always, make sure that you are using high quality ingredients when baking your tasty treats for your fur baby! Avoid products that contain chemicals to extend the shelf life as this can make your fur baby sick.
A great rule of thumb is to avoid anything that is overly processed. If you wouldn’t eat it, don’t feed it to your cat! Also, if your cat continually gets sick when you feed him/her the treat, discontinue feeding it to him/her. Our cats are just like us!
Happy Thanksgiving!
